State Officer Biographies

Vivian LeeVivian Leed 
State President

Vivian Lee is enthusiastic to serve as the 2011-2012 Nevada FBLA State President. Vivian looks forward to establishing greater communication throughout Nevada FBLA and is ready to bring her energy, commitment, and experience to Nevada FBLA.

Vivian was born in the small country of Taiwan and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She currently attends Advanced Technologies Academy and majors in Business and Finance. Vivian joined FBLA as a sophomore and was blown away by the experience FBLA had to offer. At the first state conference Vivian attended, she qualified for nationals and competed at the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN. It was an unforgettable experience.  Vivian was able to meet inspirational leaders and network with people all around the country.

In addition to FBLA, Vivian is a member of NHS, DECA, and RESPECT, a cultural club at her school. Vivian enjoys playing the piano, an instrument she took up at the age of eight. She is always excited to meet new people and carries a smile on her face everywhere she goes. One interesting fact about her is that she loves sticky notes and always has a pad of them with her.

In the upcoming year, Vivian is thrilled to help expand communication and take Nevada FBLA to the next level as she will share her experiences and encourage new members to take part in the opportunities FBLA has to offer.

McKenna MurrayMcKenna Murray
Executive Vice President

McKenna Murray is thrilled to serve as the Nevada FBLA 2011-12 Executive Vice President.   McKenna is looking forward to working with members to help make Nevada FBLA be the best that it can be. 

Born and raised outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, McKenna moved to Las Vegas when she was nine and has loved every minute of it. She is a senior at Advanced Technologies Academy, where she is very involved in many different organizations. She has been an active member of FBLA for two years. Attending the State Business Leadership Conference motivated her to become more involved with FBLA.  McKenna loves FBLA and believes that it is the best organization that students can join. 

McKenna enjoys skiing, hiking, reading, writing and serving others. She loves her family and friends.  She enjoys doing anything with both her immediate and extended family, even if it is babysitting all 23 of her younger cousins. McKenna is very grateful for her parents and the wonderful examples that they set for her. 

McKenna is excited to work with the state officer team to help FBLA continue to be the best student organization.

Wesley OttWesley Ott 
Vice President of Media

On October 2, 1994, the world changed for good. In the great state of Nevada, Wesley Ott was born. Sixteen years later, at the 2011-2012 State Business Leadership Conference, Wesley was elected Vice President of Media. He is ready to serve and can’t wait for this next year.

Wesley, being an avid member of FBLA, placed top 15 in nationals his freshman year. Wesley attends Galena High School in Reno, Nevada. He is founder of the Galena High School Table Tennis Association and has been a member of his school leadership for three years as a senator. Wesley is also a member of the National Honor Society.

Aside from leadership in the classroom, Wesley is involved in varsity tennis. He proves himself on the court by playing tournaments and being a starter for the Galena High team. His competitive spirit and commitment pushes him to be the best he can.

His extracurricular involvement is spread through all aspects of his life. Wesley makes movies and works with media in his free time. Wesley thoroughly enjoys film and FBLA and can't wait to be your Vice President of Media.

Jacquee GiovoJacquee Giovo 
Vice President of Service  

Jacquee Giovo is your 2011-2012 Vice President of Service.  Originally a Reno native, she has lived in West Wendover, Nevada for the past nine years.

Jacquee has been a member of FBLA for three years.  This year will mark her third time going to the National Leadership Conference and third time attending the National Fall Leadership Conference.  She really enjoys meeting FBLA members whenever she can and talking about her experiences with FBLA and how it has influenced her life.

Jacquee loves cheerleading, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family.  She has two amazing parents, wonderful friends, and a fantastic State Officer Team. She will be graduating with the Class of 2012 and going on to major in Business Administration in college. Jacquee hopes to graduate in the top 5 of her class and is known at her school at “the smart blonde.”

Jacquee is super excited to serve you as this year’s Vice President of Service and is going to do all she can to make this year the very best!

Alexandre UboldiAlexandre Uboldi 
Vice President of Membership

Alexandre Uboldi is honored to serve as the 2011-12 Nevada FBLA Vice-President of Membership. Alexandre was born in Las Vegas, NV. After a brief time living in Indiana and Louisiana, he moved back to Las Vegas and has lived there for a total of 13 years. His experiences around the United States and around the world have given him a diverse perspective on life.

Alex has been a member of FBLA for two years and it has been a fulfilling and intellectually stimulating experience for him. In addition to FBLA, Alex is involved with A-tech Ambassadors, Intellegencia, National Honor Society, and Forensics. Alex is also an avid movie buff, anglophile, and connoisseur of the interactive arts.

While serving as a state officer, Alex intends to expand FBLA’s membership. He believes that the best way to better his peers is by giving them the opportunity to experience everything FBLA has to offer. Alex plans to encourage members across Nevada to become more involved in FBLA and make Nevada FBLA bigger and better than ever.

Maggie BoucherMaggie Boucher 
Vice President of Public Relations

Maggie Boucher is absolutely thrilled to have the honor of serving Nevada FBLA as the Vice President of Public Relations. She has had so many wonderful experiences with the organization, including serving her local chapter as Historian this past year.

When Maggie isn’t her in business suit, she is in her soccer uniform. She has played the sport since she was four years old and now plays for the competitive club team: Placer United. She aspires to play at the collegiate level.

Maggie enjoys being involved in many activities at school, other than FBLA. She was appointed to be the 2011-2012 Editor-in-Chief of Reno High School’s newspaper theRed and Blue. She is an active member in her school’s Spanish Club. In her free time, Maggie is involved in several community service organizations. Her favorite has been coaching for VIP Soccer, a program that lets children with mental and physical disabilities learn about and play the sport.

Maggie’s family has been her support team since day one. They help and encourage her with any goals and dreams she has. Her younger brother is her best friend, and she knows she can always count on him.

Maggie can’t wait for the great year ahead and hopes to make an impact in the lives of every Nevada FBLA member!

Sean LimSean Lim 
Vice President of Advocacy

Sean Lim is honored to be the newest member of the 2011-2012 Nevada FBLA State Officer Team. He attends Advanced Technologies Academy in Las Vegas as a Business & Finance major.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Sean is no stranger to Nevada. Other than being a proud Las Vegan, he is also of Chinese descent with his parents both being Chinese and Malaysian immigrants that traveled to the states during the height of the Vietnam War. He considers himself a well-blended mix of both Eastern and Western culture, and is working to improve his second and third languages of Mandarin and Cantonese.

Aside from FBLA, Sean is also an active member of his school’s National Honor Society, Key Club, Intellegencia, and R.E.S.P.E.C.T Club. In the spring season, he is a member of his zone school’s varsity golf team. Martial arts are also a huge part of Sean’s life teaching him the tenants of honesty, integrity, humility, and persistence. Currently, he is working at his black belt in both Tae Kwon Do and Ju-Jitsu.

Sean looks forward to next year and hopes to instill the passion and dedication he has with FBLA to his fellow members. With the help of his fellow state officers, Sean knows that he can take Nevada FBLA through The Gateway to Greatness.

Matthew EdgingtonMatthew Edgington 
Northern Region Vice President

Have you ever met greatness? If the answer is no, then you have never met Matt Edgington. Matt is thrilled to be your new FBLA Northern Region Vice President for the 2011-2012 year! Currently, he is a sophomore at Galena High School, in Reno where he was born and raised.

Growing up in an FBLA family, Matt was determined to represent is his state as an FBLA officer. Matt got involved at the first chance he could, and has loved it ever since. 
            
Along with being a leader at his school chapter and the president of the Table Tennis Association, Matt is actively involved with the Speech and Debate Team, and is a member of the school golf team. Outside of school Matt participates in golf tournaments, plays the piano, does karate, and mountain bikes. Most of all, Matt enjoys spending time with his family.

Matt is very excited for the year to come and can’t wait to serve as your Northern Region Vice President. He is looking forward to a year filled lots of fun, work, and excitement.

Seth MurphySeth Murphy 
Eastern Region Vice President

Seth Murphy is excited to be your Eastern Region Vice-President, hailing from West Wendover High School. He has lived in West Wendover his entire life, but he was born in Salt Lake City 17 years ago

The avid-Raider fan is a well-rounded athlete.  This is seen in his yearlong involvement, playing for the football, basketball, and track teams.  As a football player, he lettered twice as well as won an academic award for holding a 4.0 GPA. As a track player, he lettered once.

Seth is also a member of several clubs including: FBLA, Student Council, and the All-Academic Team.

Seth also enjoys spending time with his incredibly supportive family and friends.   In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, hunting, traveling, and archery shooting.

Alexis EscobarAlexis Escobar 
Southern Region Vice President

Alexis Escobar is your 2011-12 Southern Region Vice President from Las Vegas.

An “indie,” Alexis is both a movie aficionado and an old soul. She listens to offbeat music and admits to loving both Star Wars and Clint Eastwood. Although, Alexis sounds like she’s a 70 year old woman, in reality she is seventeen years old and a junior in the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism program at Valley High School.

Alexis currently serves as the FBLA reporter and DECA CEO in her chapters. Outside of school, Alexis is also a devoted contemporary dancer who has been dancing for 3 years. When Alexis is not dancing, she is an aspiring filmmaker, a seeker of up-and-coming bands, and a lover of travel. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, going to the movies to see the newest films, and attending film festivals.

Alexis hopes to use her ideas and the skills she learns as the Southern Region Vice President to help her grow in both FBLA and DECA, further increase her leadership skills, become a leading lady in film directing, and share her imagination with the world.
